About

Our technology & curtain systems

Understand how PVC strips, overlap, hanging plates and fixed or sliding track work together when planning an industrial curtain.

A system of replaceable components

A strip curtain combines flexible material with a hanging arrangement. Its usefulness depends on how the parts work together: the selected grade, strip dimensions, overlap, fixing position and access pattern. This guide explains the systems in our range; it does not claim a proprietary material process or a particular certification. For an overview of everyday access arrangements, read about industrial PVC strip curtain applications.

Hook-on track and hanging plates

On a hook-on system, plates attached to the strips engage with the rail. The arrangement allows individual strips to be removed and replaced without treating the curtain as a single fixed sheet. Plate width and rail compatibility matter when matching replacement parts.

See the components of a complete kit or compare track and hanging plates. For an existing system, a close-up photograph is more useful than assuming that a similar-looking part will fit.

Overlap is part of the specification

Adjacent strips overlap to form a flexible barrier. Changing the arrangement affects the amount of material across the doorway and the effort required to pass through it. Consider traffic, exposure and the intended separation together. Preserve the specified sequence when hanging or replacing strips.

The ordering guide introduces overlap choices; the installation guide explains the fitting sequence. Ask for clarification if the supplied layout is unclear rather than improvising a different pattern.

Fixed or sliding access

A fixed curtain remains over the doorway while users pass through the strips. A sliding curtain moves aside when the doorway needs to be clear. The latter requires planning for track support, strip stacking and adjacent obstructions. Select the arrangement for the movement of people and loads, not simply for its appearance.

Material and application work together

Standard, ribbed, low-temperature and specialist grades serve different requirements. Thickness and width also affect the handling of a strip. Use the material comparison guide and request product-specific information where a technical specification must be satisfied.

From specification to maintenance

Keep an agreed record of dimensions, grade, overlap and included hardware. It helps check an incoming kit and identify future replacements. Our quality and specification checks page explains that handover, while replacement strips provide a maintenance route for a serviceable hanging system.

Simple measuring guide

How to measure for a PVC strip curtain

  1. 1

    Measure the clear width

Measure left to right in millimetres. For face fixing, allow approximately 100 mm beyond each side where space permits.

  2. 2

    Measure the total drop

Measure from the intended fixing point to the floor. Leave a small clearance so the strips move freely.

  3. 3

    Check traffic and temperature

Pedestrians, trolleys, forklifts and freezer environments each benefit from different PVC grades and overlaps.

  4. 4

    Send the details
