Warehouse Plastic Curtains & PVC Strip Doors

Match your warehouse plastic curtains to the traffic, load size and access you need. Compare fixed PVC strip doors, sliding curtains and movable workshop partitions.

Which plastic curtains suit a warehouse?

For frequent passage through a warehouse doorway, overlapping PVC strip curtains provide flexible access without moving the whole curtain each time. A sliding strip system suits routes where the curtain sometimes needs to be drawn aside. For dividing a larger work area, a continuous-sheet curtain offers a different type of movable partition.

The best starting point is the traffic route, not simply the size of the doorway. Describe the widest and tallest load, the equipment carrying it and how often it passes through. This helps distinguish a pedestrian stockroom curtain from a busy pallet or forklift route.

Fixed PVC strip doors for regular movement

A made-to-measure fixed curtain kit can suit internal doorways used throughout the day. Individual plastic strips part around passing traffic and return towards their hanging position. Clear PVC allows visibility through the curtain, although wear, reflections and overlapping layers can affect the view.

For vehicle routes, compare our forklift PVC curtains. The strip grade, dimensions and overlap need to suit the duty and load. Keep traffic separation and visibility measures in place; a curtain is not a barrier that separates people from moving vehicles. Plan pedestrian and vehicle routes separately and keep approaches clear.

Sliding curtains for occasional clear access

Large deliveries, maintenance equipment and irregular loads can need a clear route. Sliding PVC strip curtains allow the curtain to be moved aside when required. Include the available stacking space and the intended direction of travel when discussing the track arrangement.

For separating packing, maintenance or storage areas, compare sliding workshop sheet curtains. These move as a continuous division rather than providing the same pass-through action as individual strips.

Loading bays, cold stores and exposed doorways

Tell us whether the curtain is inside the building or behind an external loading door. Wind exposure, temperature differences and traffic all affect the specification. Plastic strip doors do not replace a building’s security door or create an airtight seal.

For chilled distribution and frozen storage, select material for the actual operating temperature. Review the cold-room and freezer curtain options rather than assuming standard clear PVC suits every warehouse area.

What to measure before requesting a quote

  • Required curtain width and finished drop, with units clearly stated.
  • Suitable wall or soffit fixing positions and any nearby door mechanism.
  • Maximum vehicle and load dimensions, including projections.
  • Traffic frequency, pedestrian arrangements and operating temperatures.
  • Side space for sliding curtains and any obstructions along the track.

A straight-on photograph and a simple sketch of the traffic route help explain unusual layouts. Use the ordering guide to check how to measure the curtain and select the fixing arrangement.

Warehouse curtain questions

Can damaged strips be replaced individually?

Yes. Replacement PVC strips can refresh a compatible curtain. Check the existing material, strip size, hanging plates and overlap before ordering.

Will thicker PVC always last longer?

Thickness is only part of the choice. Load contact, traffic frequency, temperature and the suitability of the strip width also matter. Explain the application so the curtain remains practical to pass through.

Can one system serve people and forklifts?

Tell us about both types of traffic, but plan their movement separately with your site team. Selecting a curtain does not resolve shared-route risks.

Simple measuring guide

How to measure for a PVC strip curtain

  1. 1

    Measure the clear width

Measure left to right in millimetres. For face fixing, allow approximately 100 mm beyond each side where space permits.

  2. 2

    Measure the total drop

Measure from the intended fixing point to the floor. Leave a small clearance so the strips move freely.

  3. 3

    Check traffic and temperature

Pedestrians, trolleys, forklifts and freezer environments each benefit from different PVC grades and overlaps.

  4. 4
